This document provides guidance on how to create and manage your list of referring physicians within your clinic's management system.
Accessing Referring Physicians
To view your current list of referring physicians, navigate to Settings and select the “Physicians” tab. This tab displays the full list of active referring physicians. If you wish to view previously deactivated physicians, select the “Show Inactive Physicians” option.
Adding a New Referring Physician
To add a new physician, click on the “New Physician” button located at the top-right of the screen. The “New Physician” form will appear, containing several fields for input. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
As of this guide's publication, the required fields for referring physicians are:
First Name
Last Name
Other optional fields include:
Title
Suffix
NPI Number
Contact Information
Additional notes can be added in the designated section if desired.
Searching for Referring Physicians
As your list of referring physicians grows, utilize the search bar within the “Physicians” tab to quickly locate a physician by name or NPI number.
Applying Referring Physicians to Patient Records
Once a new referring physician is added, they can be linked to a patient’s records. Open the patient’s profile and navigate to the Patient Profile section of their EMR. Under the “Physicians” tab, select the referring physician you created. The system will automatically populate the physician’s contact details for ease of reference.
