Merge Physicians lets administrators combine two duplicate physician records into one. All Referral Data, Appointment Data, and Patients linked to the physicians are carefully combined during the merge.
How to Merge Two Physicians
Click Settings in the main navigation.
Click Physicians in the Settings sidebar menu.
Locate the two physician records you want to merge in the list. Use the search bar to search by name or NPI if needed.
Select both physicians by clicking the checkbox next to each one. The button in the top-right area updates as you select:
Click Merge 2 Physicians. A preview dialog titled Merge Physicians opens.
Review the two side-by-side physician cards:
Review the record counts displayed on each card. These show how many of the following are currently linked to each physician:
Appointments
Referring Patients
PCP Patients
Reports (Referring)
Reports (PCP)
Referral Sources
Patient Links
Participants
If you want to swap which physician is the Source and which is the Destination, click the swap button (double-arrow icon) between the two cards.
Read the warning banner carefully. It states: This action cannot be undone. Only linked records (appointments, patients, reports, and similar data) are moved. Physician details such as name, NPI, and contact information are not transferred to the destination record.
Click the Merge button to complete the merge. The button includes the Source physician's last name so you can verify you are deactivating the correct record.
Expected Result
A success notification reading "Physicians were merged" appears.
All appointments, patient referrals, primary care assignments, reports, referral sources, patient links, and participant records that were linked to the Source physician now belong to the Destination physician.
Suno deactivates the Source physician record. You can find it by clicking Show Inactive Physicians on the Physicians page.
The Destination physician record stays active. If it was previously inactive, Suno reactivates it automatically.
The Destination physician keeps its own profile information (name, NPI, phone, email, address) unchanged.
Patient records that previously listed the Source as their referring physician now display the Destination physician's name, email, phone, and NPI instead.
