This guide provides instructions on how to use the in-line template feature to quickly insert templates while typing in chart notes and other text fields within Suno.
Overview
The in-line template feature allows you to insert templates directly while typing using a simple forward-slash / shortcut. This feature is designed to streamline your charting process and save time during documentation.
Prerequisites
Active templates configured in your Suno system.
Using In-Line Templates
Quick Template Insertion with Forward-slash
Begin typing your chart note or documentation as normal.
When you want to insert a template, press the forward-slash
/key.
βA dropdown menu will appear showing all available templates.
Select the desired template from the list.
The template will be inserted at your cursor position.
Important Notes About Forward-slash Usage
The forward-slash shortcut is intelligent and will only trigger the template menu when used alone:
Will trigger templates: Pressing
/by itselfWill NOT trigger templates:
Using
/for fractions (e.g., "3/4" for three-fourths).Using
/followed immediately by numbers or letters.Using
/as part of other text formatting.
This ensures normal forward-slash usage is not interrupted by the template feature.
Multiple Template Insertion
Accessing Compose Template Mode
Click the Templates button in your text editor.
Toggle on Compose Template Mode.
βYou can now insert multiple templates in sequence.
Working with Multiple Templates
Insert Templates: Select multiple templates to add them to your composition area.
Edit Content: The composition area remains editable - you can make changes to the combined template content before inserting.
Clear Templates: Use the
Clearbutton to clear all inserted templates and start fresh.
βInsert Final Content: Once satisfied with your multi-template composition, insert it directly into your chart note.
