This guide outlines the steps to properly set up clinic taxes within your system. Following these instructions will ensure that taxes are correctly applied to products based on their type and subtype, keeping your clinic compliant with local regulations.
Accessing Clinic Tax Settings
Navigate to Settings: Go to the Settings module in your clinic’s dashboard.
Select Clinic Taxes: Choose the Clinic Taxes submenu.
Adding a New Clinic Tax
Click + New Clinic Tax: Located at the top-right corner of the screen and fill out the following information:
Enter Title: Provide a descriptive title (e.g., New York Taxes).
Select Type and Subtype:
Choose the Type (e.g., Accessory).
Optionally, specify a Subtype (e.g., Remote).
Add Description (Optional): Include notes or reminders about the tax if needed.
Set Total Rate: This is the percentage used to calculate taxes for products.
Specify Additional Rates (Optional depending on local law):
State Rate
City Rate
District Rate (as required by local laws)
Effective Dates:
Effective From: Set the start date for the tax.
Expires On (Optional): Add an expiration date if applicable. Expired taxes will appear in the Expired Taxes section.
Set as Default (Optional): Prioritize this tax rate for the selected type and subtype.
Save: Click Save to finalize the new tax.
Important Considerations
Clinic-Specific Taxes: Taxes are configured per clinic. Switching clinics (top-right of the dashboard) will display taxes relevant to the selected location.
Verifying Tax Application: If taxes aren’t being automatically applied:
Confirm that the tax settings are correctly configured for that specific clinic.
Applying Taxes to Products
Enable Taxable Option:
Click the Pencil icon next to the product.
Check the Taxable checkbox.
Click the Checkmark to save the changes.
Taxes will now be automatically applied for all products that match the
Type/Subtypeand have theTaxableoption active.Note: If you are not seeing the clinic taxes appear, ensure that the invoice is set up for the correct clinic.
